Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring over a popular coastal beach unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Recordings uploaded online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
Emergency responders stated five people were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
Planned Function
The department indicated the helicopter was connected to an annual “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion planned for the next day.
