Trey Yesavage delivered a performance for the ages and Davis Schneider launched a home run on the game's initial offering as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Dodgers six to one on Wednesday evening, needing just one more triumph of their first World Series championship since 1993.

Yesavage's Historic Outing

The young Yesavage, who debuted in the majors this past September, struck out 12 without issuing a walk – setting a new World Series record. The first-year pitcher allowed one run on three hits across seven innings. He started the season in Class A before sparse crowds, but has now earned two starting wins in the series in this seven-game set.

A Quick Start for Toronto

Toronto’s hitters provided early support. On the game's opening offering, Schneider drilled a 97-mile-per-hour heater and homered to left field. Two pitches later, Vladimir Guerrero Jr added a second home run to almost the exact same place. It marked the historic first for the Fall Classic that consecutive home runs opened a game, stunning the crowd before most had settled in.

Yesavage Takes Control

Yesavage then took over. He fanned five in a row between the second and third innings, establishing a new rookie mark before Kiké Hernández finally broke the streak with a solo shot in the bottom of the third to make it 2–1. That was as close as Los Angeles would get.

Extending the Lead

In the fourth inning, Daulton Varsho smacked a triple to right field after a misplay, and Clement delivered a sacrifice fly to score him for a three to one lead. The Dodgers' bats remained quiet from there. After a six-run output in an 18-inning game, they’ve produced just four runs in their last 29 innings.

Late Inning Insurance

The Dodgers starter battled through six and two-thirds innings but exited in the seventh after the bases became full. The runners he allowed both crossed the plate – one on a wild pitch and another on an RBI single – to make it 5–1. A hit in the eighth provided the final margin.

Bullpen Secures the Win

Yesavage was cheered off the field from the traveling fans, and the bullpen did the rest. The relief corps each pitched an inning without allowing a run to secure the victory, recording three strikeouts together while preserving the rookie’s masterpiece.

Offensive Woes Continue

The Dodgers, who adjusted their lineup in search of a spark, again couldn't find momentum. Their key batter went 0-for-4 and is now riding an 0-for-7 skid since a record-setting on-base performance in the third game.
