Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Step in for Marc Guehi in Three Lions National Team
Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the twenty-first duo of brothers to be selected for the England side.
The Chelsea defender is likely to link up with the Three Lions selection to cover for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to link up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has not yet been confirmed.
The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming World Cup.
Chalobah earned his initial call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally omitted him for the following October matches.
Tuchel has been an important figure in Chalobah's development, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.
There are set to be additional additions to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the squad.
